2011 Dolcetto Columbia Valley
We are pleased to offer this rare gem of a grape found in Washington State. Our Dolcetto is great for everyday drinking or as complementary wine to any special event. There are roughly 20 acres of this grape planted in the all of Washington. A rare and unique wine for Washington State. Dolcetto wine is meant to be consumed young, usually 2-3 years after bottling.
Pair this Dolcetto with roasted chicken or pork, pizza and lasagna. Also GREAT with chocolate.
The color of the wine is a deep violet of red spinel. It has aromas of raspberry jam, shaved chocolate, tobacco and fresh pressed mulberries. On the palate, the wine is dominated by red fruit flavors such as loganberry and mulberry. The wine is supported by natural silky tannins with a finish that lingers with a hint of raspberry tart.
Finished wine: 80% Dolcetto 20% Barbera
