Thanks goes to…
We couldn’t do a lot of this without help from others.
Big thanks to David’s mother Joyce Volmut for allowing him to develop into who whoever he wanted to be. She always said “no matter who you become, make sure you enjoy life and are happy with what you do.” Well, I think I have found that dream and will do my best to continue on this path.
We’d also like to thank Jennifer’s mom and dad, Jim and Mary States. They have been very encouraging and supportive of our endeavors.
Without the help from both of our families, this dream would mostly be a dream in a sea of red wine.
Yakima Valley Community College:
I graduated from YVCC in 2009 with high marks. I want to thank the staff and administration for their devotion to excellence and quality. Their wines can be found at Yakima Valley Vintners. If you are interested in learning more about their wine program, please visit the school’s teaching winery website here.
Olsen Estates winery:
David began working at Olsen Estates in 2008 as a lab intern helping the winemaker Kyle Johnson with whatever he needed. He learned about the importance of testing wine, blending and how and what to taste. By 2009 David had become essentially the assistant winemaker helping with Crush, wine additions, and cellar operations. Kyle’s encouragement and guidance kept David working towards making a high quality product from the vineyard to the bottle. You can find Kyle’s fine wines at Purple Star Wines.
Wine Press Northwest:
Big thank you to the staff at Winepress NW. This group allowed me to come in and help them set up their tastings. For two years they helped educate me on the importance of producing a clean, fault-free wine for the consumer. Over that two year period, I tasted about 30-40 wines a week (which I deeply miss) and learn more about what small producers are doing throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The support and encouragement from Mike and Roz Reichner, the owners of Purple Haze Lavender Farm, and our neighbors has been overwhelming. Their fine products can be found at Purple Haze Lavender Farms.
